Air tightness testing – non dwellings

Air tightness testing – non dwellings

Approved document L2A confirms that requirement for air tightness testing for non-dwellings. There are very few exclusions, thus the vast majority of new buildings will require an air test.

The test itself is a fairly straightforward exercise, however where the air permeability target is low , for example 3m3 we have a “menu” of options to choose from:

  • Drawing reviews to identify any areas of potential concern
  • On-site training/tool-box talks for site staff and sub-contractors
  • Regular site-audits to check design versus construction detail and avoid risk
  • Interim testing

Testing is carried out to ATTMA (Air Tightness Testing & Measuring Association) Technical Standard L2 and we are UKAS accredited for this service.
